Mount Kamaga, Hida - Kawase Hasui Art Print
Couldn't load pickup availability
Kawase Hasui carved this 1933 view of Kamagadake at the hour when the Hida mountains lose their color to shadow. A single conical peak holds the center, its slate-purple bulk cut sharp against clouds gone salmon and coral at the edges.
Below, a low weir crosses the river in a straight dark line, and the water above it catches every pink streak from the sky, doubling the sunset on its surface. Pine and broadleaf trees crowd both banks in near-black green, framing the water on either side.
This is shin-hanga at its most exacting: Watanabe Shozaburo's studio pressed dozens of blocks to build that graded sky, the bokashi wash shifting from violet-gray to rose without a hard edge.
Hasui trained his eye on real places across Taisho and Showa Japan, and Kamagadake shows why collectors still chase his prints today, a woodblock record of one mountain caught between day and night, drawn from the Hida highlands of Gifu that Hasui traveled to sketch by hand before a single block was cut.

Wall Art Size Guides

Framed Art Prints

1. Vertical
Use the sawtooth hanger at the top middle on the back of the frame and hang it on a single screw or nail.

2. Horizontal
Hang the two sawtooth hangers on two screws or nails at the same heightPut two screws or nails in the wall at the same height, spaced the same distance apart as the two sawtooth hangers, then hang your print on them.

Framed Canvas

1. D-rings (most secure)
Screw a D-ring onto the back of the frame on the left and right, both at the same height. A ruler helps here. Then put two screws in the wall where you want your canvas, level with each other and spaced the same distance apart as the D-rings. A spirit level makes this easier. Finally, hook the D-rings onto the screws.

2. Straight onto screws
Keep it simple: put two screws in the wall at the same height and rest the inner lip at the top of the back of the frame on them.
