The Kasbah Gate, Tangier - Georges Bretegnier Art Print

Fine Art Prints

Forget cheap reproductions and printable posters. Only the best will do.

Velvety matte fine art paper (warm white, archival-grade, 200gsm) with bold, vibrant, non-toxic pigment inks. High-definition print lab techniques give you sharper details, deeper saturation and true-to-life tones. While the matte surface keeps glare down and archival-grade materials mean the colors you fall for stay vivid for decades.

Framed Fine Art Prints

Your print arrives framed and ready to hang, so it goes straight from the box to your wall.

Chevron cut wooden frames make a timeless statement in three distinctive colors: black, white and natural. Each frame is made of sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine. And your artwork is protected behind ultra-clear perspex glaze that’s lighter than glass and shatter-resistant.

Float Framed Canvas Prints

Luscious artist-grade cotton canvas, hand-stretched and finely textured, gives every detail depth and precision, catching light and color with striking clarity. While a precisely measured floating frame leaves a slim gap around the canvas, so it seems to hover with a sleek, gallery-worthy effect. Finished with your choice of frame color — black, white or natural — made from sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine.

Giclée Printing

A gate is a newsroom, and the men on these steps are reading the day. Georges Bretegnier sets a scalloped arch of cream plaster in a frame of glazed tile, with a thick wooden door leading to a light filled courtyard within. A tall man in saffron stands at the threshold, and others in rose, green and blue robes sit along a stepped wall in red caps and white turbans, each turned toward a neighbor.

A kasbah was the fortified citadel of a Moroccan town, so the men on these steps sit at the threshold of authority and treat it as a porch. Behind them a slim minaret in rust and cream stands against hard blue sky. Tangier was Morocco's diplomatic capital, where foreign legations sat while the sultan's court stayed inland.

The cobbles glow gold where the sun reaches them, the shadow at the right is warm brown, and a lone walker in black crosses the stairs at the far left. Bretegnier's brushwork is fine and exact, so every tile in the frame and every course of stone sits in a smooth patient finish. Painted with a dry, thin finish that lets the grain of the canvas catch the light. While the sky stays a clear cerulean from edge to edge.

The Kasbah Gate, Tangier awaits your hallway or study as an Orientalist genre painting where men in saffron and rose settle into the shade beside an open door of possibillity. A circle of neighbors like a red-capped quorum keeping your wall in conversation.
