About the Wall Art
Fine Art Prints

Forget cheap reproductions and printable posters. Only the best will do.
Velvety matte fine art paper (warm white, archival-grade, 200gsm) with bold, vibrant, non-toxic pigment inks. High-definition print lab techniques give you sharper details, deeper saturation and true-to-life tones. While the matte surface keeps glare down and archival-grade materials mean the colors you fall for stay vivid for decades.
Framed Fine Art Prints

Your print arrives framed and ready to hang, so it goes straight from the box to your wall.
Chevron cut wooden frames make a timeless statement in three distinctive colors: black, white and natural. Each frame is made of sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine. And your artwork is protected behind ultra-clear perspex glaze that’s lighter than glass and shatter-resistant.
Float Framed Canvas Prints

Luscious artist-grade cotton canvas, hand-stretched and finely textured, gives every detail depth and precision, catching light and color with striking clarity. While a precisely measured floating frame leaves a slim gap around the canvas, so it seems to hover with a sleek, gallery-worthy effect. Finished with your choice of frame color — black, white or natural — made from sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine.
Giclée Printing

Forget 4 color CMYK. Giclée layers up to 12 — alive with deeper shadows, richer highlights and multidimensional contrasts. Pro-lab printing process helps art stay bold & breathtaking for up to 100 years. And the neo-pigment, water-based inks are 100% non-hazardous and toxin-free.
About the Artwork
A man in a red cap swings his yellow slippers over a drop of white wall. Wearing a coral robe with a black cloak thrown back and a rifle across his lap.And tThose yellow slippers are the belgha, the leather babouche that has long been standard for Moroccan men.
Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant sets the man in coral him with another five watchers along a limewashed parapet. A tall guard at the right leaning on a long staff, with a gap of clear blue opening in the cloud above them. Four more men lounging in between, one in a pale aqua hood and another a cream turban.
The batteries of the seafront looked over the Strait of Gibraltar, one of the busiest sea lanes in the world, so the garrison watched sails from many countries pass. The barrels still face the water here, and the garrison has settled into the habits of a quiet watch.
Benjamin-Constant first reached Morocco in 1872 and painted its soldiers in Paris for years afterward. He lays heavy cloud of slate gray and pearl over a sea of green-turquoise, with far mountains in blue-gray haze. Wet soft strokes drag it across the sky while the robes and the rifle stay crisp. Warming the wall where the sun touches it and cooling it to blue-gray along the step at the right.
On the Roofs awaits your study or living room as a coastal painting, where a long watch passes at an easy pace above a turquoise sea.
