A Terrace in Morocco - Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant Art Print

Fine Art Prints

Forget cheap reproductions and printable posters. Only the best will do.

Velvety matte fine art paper (warm white, archival-grade, 200gsm) with bold, vibrant, non-toxic pigment inks. High-definition print lab techniques give you sharper details, deeper saturation and true-to-life tones. While the matte surface keeps glare down and archival-grade materials mean the colors you fall for stay vivid for decades.

Framed Fine Art Prints

Your print arrives framed and ready to hang, so it goes straight from the box to your wall.

Chevron cut wooden frames make a timeless statement in three distinctive colors: black, white and natural. Each frame is made of sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine. And your artwork is protected behind ultra-clear perspex glaze that’s lighter than glass and shatter-resistant.

Float Framed Canvas Prints

Luscious artist-grade cotton canvas, hand-stretched and finely textured, gives every detail depth and precision, catching light and color with striking clarity. While a precisely measured floating frame leaves a slim gap around the canvas, so it seems to hover with a sleek, gallery-worthy effect. Finished with your choice of frame color — black, white or natural — made from sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine.

Giclée Printing

The heat has driven every household in town up to the roof, and dusk is the reward. The sun has gone down behind the town, and Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant seats a woman in green velvet on the parapet with her bare feet hanging over a spotted pelt. A second woman in a blue headscarf lies along a crimson and ochre carpet with her chin on her hand, and a man in a white wrap rests at the far end.

On a Moroccan house the roof is the coolest place. Families spent summer evenings up there, away from the heat gathered on the lower floors, and the carpet came up the stairs with them. Another pale-robed figure leans on an iron rail inside a carved horseshoe window. Tiled arabesque fills the bottom corner and the orange tree bears small fruit. Moroccan households pick the bitter oranges for marmalade and for orange blossom water, which perfumes the tea and sweets set out for guests.

Benjamin-Constant first reached Morocco in 1872 and painted it in Paris for years afterward. He builds the velvet in dense strokes of deep green. Gold embroidery edges the carpet in a thin bright line. At the right edge flat white roofs step down toward a thin line of sea, and a worn corner of masonry shows plaster beneath the paint. A peach glow settles over the low blue band of sea. Fruit, sky and carpet run hot, which leaves the water as the one cool distance.

A Terrace in Morocco awaits your living room or bedroom as a dreamy dusk scene, where a turquoise evening and a ripe tree keep the light warm. The last light settling on a household at ease.
