Robert Delaunay's Eiffel Tower series captures the 1889 engineering marvel as Orphism's ultimate subject: iron dissolved into simultaneous color discs and interlocking arcs. Cadmium orange scaffolding meets lavender shadow, while lime-green curves orbit the composition like planets circling a steel sun. The tower's lattice, rendered in lemon yellow and vermilion, tilts vertiginously, its crossbeams humming against cream voids. Paris ascends in fractured rainbows.
Delaunay abandoned naturalism for chromatic simultaneity, each pigment colliding to produce optical vibration born from Michel Eugène Chevreul's color theory. Emerald wedges press into coral bands; cobalt angles intersect mauve crescents.
