An owl looks straight out of Katsushika Hokusai's Album of Sketches, its round face turned downward as if caught mid-blink on the page. Two ear-tufts rise like torn paper scraps, striped in cinnamon-brown and bone, and beneath them sit eyes so close-set they read as one dark seam.
The Japanese once called this bird mimizuku, horned owl, tied to old superstition about night vision and forest secrets. Hokusai worked this owl in layered sumi wash: black dabbed thick across the crown, thinned to gray-brown speckle across the chest, one long stripe of cream cutting the folded wing like a seam of light through bark. The T-shaped perch beneath the claws is drawn in three quick strokes, rough bark texture standing in for a whole tree.
Paper toning, yellowed by two centuries of handling, now reads as part of the image itself, warm and worn at the corners. Long before the towering wave or the hundred views of a mountain, this small study proves Hokusai already understood how stillness, watched closely enough, carries its own kind of motion.

Finally, hook the D-rings onto the screws.

Keep it simple: put two screws in the wall at the same height and rest the inner lip at the top of the back of the frame on them.
