The Sacred Egyptian Bean unfurls like a secret spoken in three tongues—scarlet, saffron, and shadow. Each blossom brims with heat: the red petals flare in sharp succession, like lit syllables of a lost prayer.
The yellow flower turns inward, folded sun, while the red bud leans toward becoming. Beneath them, a monumental leaf, its veined green stretched taut as cured hide, cradles shadow and stem alike. The water behind is inked with horizontal light. Pyramids peer from the misted horizon like unfinished thoughts.
Thornton renders the lotus not as flora but as axis: linking Nile to sky, bud to age. The flowers refuse to whisper—they blaze. Even the seedpod juts forward, bristling with authority.
