About this Artwork
Pascal stands resplendent, a vision of Black queer cowboy majesty, swathed in a storm of sculpted roses. His pearl-white Stetson—a crown of defiance, nodding to the Black femboy drifters who wove tenderness into the rough-hewn mythology of the West. Beneath its brim, his gaze smolders with the knowing mischief of a ballroom icon ready to dip beneath the neon of an empty highway.
He is the unbridled spirit of the Black queer rodeo circuit, the reincarnation of Harlem Renaissance cabaret queens in cowboy boots. A high-femme outlaw whose lace-lined spurs jangle with the echoes of underground juke joints and Juneteenth jubilation. His very presence is a rebellion, a Black cowboy femme aesthetic woven from the silk of Creole courtesans, Southern Gothic storytellers, and the sun-drenched swagger of a ponyboy prince. Pascal does not walk in the footsteps of history—he rewrites it, spurred by the ghosts of those who vogued through saloon doors, who carved their own utopias from dust.
Pascal rides beyond binaries, beyond stolen legacies. He is the sunrise over a prairie untouched by limits, where Black femboy resilience is a force of nature—unbowed, unbothered, undeniable. A vision of Afrofuturist cowboy glamour, embodying the legacy of Black queer wanderers who dared to make the frontier their own.
