They carry the legacy of Peking opera’s dan performers, the swagger of a lonesome cowboy staring down the horizon, the grace of a scholar who understands that poetry is both weapon and refuge.
Their jacket, a ghost of imperial brocades and Western dust trails, is stitched with symbols of endurance, creation, resilience and unmatched beauty. A scarf coils at their neck, patterned with ink-brushed florals in bloom, mirroring the ephemeral revolution of their existence.
