Francisco de Goya’s They Spruce Themselves Up emerges on this Samsung case as a grotesque parody of vanity. Figures with distorted faces huddle together, one wielding shears over the clawed foot of another, their ritual of grooming framed in ridicule.

From Los Caprichos (1799), the print skewers obsession with appearances, showing how ugliness persists beneath cosmetic masks. Each etched line exaggerates bone and sinew, turning self-decoration into a theater of absurdity. The dark strokes carve expressions that waver between comic and sinister, reminding us that corruption dresses itself in finery, but never loses its monstrous form.

Francisco Goya (30 March 1746 – 16 April 1828) was a Spanish painter and printmaker, often called the father of modern art.
