About this Artwork
Nosferatu steps from the hatch like a low tide climbing the hull, coat bristling with small buttons, claws lifted to read the air. Rigging cuts the sky into hard angles. A pulley hangs like a black moon. The schooner’s rail curves, then stops short, as if the frame itself refuses a way out.
Bone-white scalp. Pointed ears. Clawed hands hovering over the plank seam. In this 1922 silent film moment, German Expressionism turns the deck into a stage of shadow play and chalk-bright glare.
