Artwork Description
Wind climbs the hill, and her cape answers with russet checks and moss green flashes. The Little Witch leans into it, tall hat leading, hand near the broomstick wedged by the tree. A black cat familiar threads her steps; bats pencil arcs toward spires in the distance. Two frogs regard the procession, patient as stones.
Ida Rentoul Outhwaite draws with Art Nouveau line and pen-and-ink finesse, then sets a watercolor tint that holds a warm sepia wash. And the scene still feels as if it's on a freshly turned page.
