Blue Fan Pattern - G.A. Audsley iPhone Case

$45USD

Beneath a canopy of cobalt, G.A. Audsley's blue fan pattern unfolds as a cosmic riddle. A portal to a mythical sky where dragons do not merely guard treasures but compose symphonies of chaos and balance. Their gilded bodies coil through currents of rippling cloud bands, which rise like the breath of ancient mountains, shaping a landscape as transient as dreams yet as deliberate as scripture. These dragons do not roar; their silence hums with an alchemy of creation, their golden scales glinting like fragmented suns.

Between their serpentine arcs, floral emblems bloom, neither fully botanical nor entirely celestial, suggesting the fragile in-betweenness of life and eternity. The cobalt plane beneath, far from static, churns like an abyss disguised as serenity, its surface tethered by ornamental tides that ebb and surge with an unseen rhythm.

This isn’t merely decoration—it’s a cosmology rendered in color and form, where Audsley’s hand doesn’t replicate but reimagines the universe’s architecture, fractal by fractal.

Artist Biography

George Ashdown Audsley (1838–1925) was a Scottish architect, artist, and writer renowned for his contributions to art and design. In partnership with his brother, William, he established the firm W. & G. Audsley, which designed notable Gothic Revival churches and eclectic synagogues in Liverpool and London.

Audsley was a prolific author, producing lavishly illustrated works on ornamentation and Japanese art, such as The Keramic Art of Japan (1875), co-authored with James Lord Bowes.

His expertise extended to pipe organ design; he conceived the organ for the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair, later installed as the Wanamaker Organ in Philadelphia.

Audsley's interdisciplinary talents significantly influenced both Western appreciation of Japanese aesthetics and advancements in architectural design.
