Wadahama in Kagawa Prefecture - Kawase Hasui Art Print
Couldn't load pickup availability
Look long enough at Wadahama and the road starts to move. Kawase Hasui carved this Kagawa evening into wood block and pigment, and the coral-orange wall along the lane still holds the last coin of sun. While a farmer in a pale headcloth leads his ox down a rutted track, the flatbed cart creaking behind two bundled sacks, hooves and wheels pressed into gray earth like a private ledger of the day's work.
Bare branches claw at a teal sky above a second tree, its rounded crown burning ochre against clouds brushed soft by bokashi gradation, the printer's signature fade from jade dusk into pale gold. Shikoku's low mountains sit slate blue and calm past the tiled rooftops, framing a Kagawa Prefecture street older than any postcard.
Watanabe Shozaburo's shin-hanga workshop built this stillness from Edo-period woodblock craft reborn for a modern, postwar Japan: no crowd, no spectacle, only a man walking home while swallows stitch dark commas across a fading plaster wall. Wadahama keeps its evening light.
The cart rolls on toward the bend, and Hasui's 1954 Kagawa never lets go. Somewhere past the ridgeline, indigo hills close the frame like a held door.

Framed Art Prints

1. Vertical
Use the sawtooth hanger at the top middle on the back of the frame and hang it on a single screw or nail.

2. Horizontal
Hang the two sawtooth hangers on two screws or nails at the same heightPut two screws or nails in the wall at the same height, spaced the same distance apart as the two sawtooth hangers, then hang your print on them.

Framed Canvas

1. D-rings (most secure)
Screw a D-ring onto the back of the frame on the left and right, both at the same height. A ruler helps here. Then put two screws in the wall where you want your canvas, level with each other and spaced the same distance apart as the D-rings. A spirit level makes this easier. Finally, hook the D-rings onto the screws.

2. Straight onto screws
Keep it simple: put two screws in the wall at the same height and rest the inner lip at the top of the back of the frame on them.
