Smoke Show - Victorian Gothic Smoking Skeleton Art Print
About the Wall Art
Fine Art Prints

Forget cheap reproductions and printable posters. Only the best will do.
Velvety matte fine art paper (warm white, archival-grade, 200gsm) with bold, vibrant, non-toxic pigment inks. High-definition print lab techniques give you sharper details, deeper saturation and true-to-life tones. While the matte surface keeps glare down and archival-grade materials mean the colors you fall for stay vivid for decades.
Framed Fine Art Prints

Your print arrives framed and ready to hang, so it goes straight from the box to your wall.
Chevron cut wooden frames make a timeless statement in three distinctive colors: black, white and natural. Each frame is made of sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine. And your artwork is protected behind ultra-clear perspex glaze that’s lighter than glass and shatter-resistant.
Float Framed Canvas Prints

Luscious artist-grade cotton canvas, hand-stretched and finely textured, gives every detail depth and precision, catching light and color with striking clarity. While a precisely measured floating frame leaves a slim gap around the canvas, so it seems to hover with a sleek, gallery-worthy effect. Finished with your choice of frame color — black, white or natural — made from sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine.
Giclée Printing

Forget 4 color CMYK. Giclée layers up to 12 — alive with deeper shadows, richer highlights and multidimensional contrasts. Pro-lab printing process helps art stay bold & breathtaking for up to 100 years. And the neo-pigment, water-based inks are 100% non-hazardous and toxin-free.
About the Artwork
You catch the eye of this Smoke Show mid-inhale, chin lifted, a lit cigarette tilted toward the lamp-black dark. Above the collar he is all pulse. A skeleton dandy with a greaser pompadour slicked to an oil-black shine. Jet waves combed high. Slate-blue eyes slide down under heavy lids. But below the jaw flesh quits. Clavicle and sternum bare in chalk and putty paint, troweled on thick enough to snag a fingernail. Stripped past skin, the furthest a striptease can go.
This lowbrow painting pickpockets the vanitas tradition. Dutch Golden Age still life painters set skulls beside snuffed candles to scare the rich. In Antwerp in 1886, a student named Van Gogh wedged a burning cigarette between a skeleton's teeth and mocked his own drawing class. Here the joke grows a face. It's a pretty one, raked by Caravaggio's tenebrism and painted wet-into-wet so every stroke shows. Beau Brummell would have approved of the collar and envied the cheekbones.
Pop surrealism loves a punchline you can hang over the bar cart. This memento mori portrait lands its own in one hard wedge of chiaroscuro across the cheek. The ash keeps its ember but he has no lungs left to hold the smoke.
