About This Artwork
A sky that cradles hills. A forest that kisses its own reflection. Above and below trade places inside Don Davis’s cosmic greenhouse. Rendered with NASA-calibrated detail, the O’Neill Cylinder transforms a phone case into a biosphere wrapped in orbital grace.
Here, dusk collects in mauve cumulus domes, anchored to nothing. Fields arch toward an unseen axis. Every element—the winding river, the mirrored skyplate, the blushing atmospheric curls—exudes engineering as poetry.
This isn’t sci-fi nostalgia. It’s premonition, precision, promise. And each time you hold your phone, you touch a future Earth, bent into rotation. Don Davis’s visual speculation becomes artifact. A case for a planet unmade and remade in vacuum.
