Description

This iPhone case brings to life the serene beauty of "Snow at Asakusa" by Takahashi Shōtei, an iconic work from the Shin-hanga movement. The snow-covered pagoda stands quietly amid delicate, frosted branches, offering a tranquil window into a Japanese winter scene. The rich, muted reds of the temple contrast against the soft, ethereal snowfall, each flake suspended in time as if floating down from a still, winter sky.

This is more than just a case—it's a visual poem, a moment of peace you can carry with you every day. Shōtei’s attention to detail invites you to explore the interplay between the architectural elegance of the pagoda and the natural world surrounding it. The careful balance of color and form brings harmony and grace to your phone, making it not just a protective accessory but a canvas of cultural history.

Perfect for lovers of Japanese art, this case transforms your phone into a handheld masterpiece, evoking the quiet majesty of nature and the timeless beauty of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.

About the Artist

Takahashi Shōtei, born Hiroaki in 1871 in Tokyo, was a prominent figure in the shinsaku-hanga and later shin-hanga movements. Under the tutelage of his uncle, Matsumoto Fuko, Shōtei mastered woodblock artistry, blending tradition with innovation. Recruited by Watanabe Shōzaburō, Shōtei contributed to the revival of ukiyo-e, creating works that resonated with both Japanese and Western audiences. Despite the Great Kanto earthquake of 1923 destroying many of his woodblocks, he rebuilt and continued producing evocative prints. Shōtei's art, marked by delicate landscapes and atmospheric scenes, remains a testament to his resilience and the enduring beauty of shin-hanga.
