About the Artist

Numata Kashu, active in the late 19th century, was a Japanese artist celebrated for his vivid woodblock prints, particularly his renowned "A Picture Book of Birds." Published during the Meiji era, this three-volume collection brought Japan's birdlife to life with dynamic compositions and intricate detail.
