Vienna, 1912. A young woman emerges from cream-flushed paper with cascading black tresses tumbling past her shoulders, eyes wide and outlined in stark kohl-dark lashes that mark the unmistakable hand of Wiener Werkstätte lithography.
Her loose ivory smock — a herald of reform-dress liberation — bears cinnabar-red sleeves cropped boldly at the elbow, the hue blazing against chalk-soft pinks. A polychrome bead string of saffron, turquoise, oxblood, and ebony hangs at her sternum like Klimt's mosaic logic translated to wearable ornament.
This Postkarte No. 860 belongs to the legendary fashion card series printed in Josef Hoffmann's atelier, where Mela Köhler, Maria Likarz, and Fritzi Löw redefined feminine silhouette. Modernity wore a beaded necklace and stared back, unflinching.
