Slow Waltz - Vintage Gay Sailor Romance Art Print

Fine Art Prints

Forget cheap reproductions and printable posters. Only the best will do.

Velvety matte fine art paper (warm white, archival-grade, 200gsm) with bold, vibrant, non-toxic pigment inks. High-definition print lab techniques give you sharper details, deeper saturation and true-to-life tones. While the matte surface keeps glare down and archival-grade materials mean the colors you fall for stay vivid for decades.

Framed Fine Art Prints

Your print arrives framed and ready to hang, so it goes straight from the box to your wall.

Chevron cut wooden frames make a timeless statement in three distinctive colors: black, white and natural. Each frame is made of sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine. And your artwork is protected behind ultra-clear perspex glaze that’s lighter than glass and shatter-resistant.

Float Framed Canvas Prints

Luscious artist-grade cotton canvas, hand-stretched and finely textured, gives every detail depth and precision, catching light and color with striking clarity. While a precisely measured floating frame leaves a slim gap around the canvas, so it seems to hover with a sleek, gallery-worthy effect. Finished with your choice of frame color — black, white or natural — made from sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine.

Giclée Printing

One man's arm circles his partner's waist, hand spread across his partner's coat. In this vintage gay sailor photograph the dance is slow enough to keep both pairs of polished shoes planted. Together they've found the beat.

The silver gelatin in this monochrome vintage gay photo sits closer to chalk than to brass. The grain runs the way cheap film runs, thick in the corners, thin where the lamp hits. Anchor badges mark the caps and collar of each navy sailor uniform. An iron bed with spindle rails stands against the wall, and a pair of boots waits at its foot. Their coats drinking the lamplight in espresso wool.

Naval life of the period packed men into shared quarters and a song on a disc often stood in for a ballroom. A stack of shellac waits beside a cabinet gramophone, the vintage record player of its day. And this antique navy couple photograph catches the first bar of a slow waltz.

Slow Waltz awaits your bedroom as a sweet navy couple portrait, a homoerotic aside where two sailors stay forever mid-step.
