About the Artist

Owen Jones, born in 1809, was a pioneering Victorian designer whose chromolithography and love for Islamic-inspired patterns transformed 19th-century aesthetics.

Known for his work on the Crystal Palace and his influential book, "The Grammar of Ornament," Jones brought vibrant color and cultural fusion into design, challenging the conventional norms of his time.

His travels to the Alhambra inspired kaleidoscopic patterns that infused wallpapers, textiles, and interiors, laying the groundwork for movements like Art Nouveau and Modernism.

Jones's legacy remains a celebration of cultural diversity and bold creativity in British art, pushing the boundaries of design and inspiring generations of artists.
