Inside the dim doorway, broom bristles rise like weapons. Two young women lunge forward, laughter tangled with fear, while wizened priests hover behind them, urging on their futile crusade. Before them, winged caricatures scuttle—men’s heads grafted onto bird bodies, grotesque offspring of ignorance and pride.

Goya’s needle spares no one; every etched muscle and wrinkle drips with social derision. The chase becomes allegory for a nation trying to purify itself through absurdity. Air, wall, and flesh share the same anxious texture. Even the light seems to recoil, as if conscience itself were being swept across the threshold and into history’s dust.
Origin Story

Francisco Goya (30 March 1746 – 16 April 1828) was a Spanish painter and printmaker, often called the father of modern art.

Known for his striking portraits and dark, haunting themes, Goya documented Spain’s turbulent history, including the brutality of war and social unrest.

His famous works like "The Third of May 1808" and "Saturn Devouring His Son" reflect both political commentary and a deep exploration of human nature. Goya’s later works grew increasingly dark, with a focus on the fears and madness of society.
