This gay Norse prince trades horned iron for flowers: peonies, ranunculus, and pale rose gathered into a horticulturist's own regalia.
Blue-eyed and still, the young Norse prince wears cream brocade scrolled in gold thread, each shoulder studded with sapphire-toned beads like frost caught on a longship's rail. Copper curls crown a jaw softened by ginger beard, and above that face rises a second crown built entirely from petals. A red sash cuts the chest on a diagonal, clasped in hammered silver, the one martial note in an otherwise botanical kingdom.
Behind him, an ornamental wallpaper of looping gold and blue scrollwork echoes art nouveau pattern-making; roses in cobalt, blush, and scarlet crowd the border like a garden refusing to stay background. Queer tenderness sits plainly in the gaze: no armor of aggression, only cultivated bloom worn as birthright.
