About This Artwork
A lone traveler drifts beneath towering cryptomeria, their woven pack glowing against the dark trunks. Hasui Kawase’s Nikkō Gaidō captures Japan’s cedar avenue as a corridor of memory, where light pools on the path and vanishes into shadow.
Each tree rises like an ancestral pillar, guardians of pilgrimage and folklore, etched with the quiet geometry of shin-hanga printmaking. The design evokes Meiji-era nostalgia, Edo traditions, and Taishō modernity—an echo of ukiyo-e yet charged with naturalism.
With this case, your phone becomes a talisman of craftsmanship, carrying the stillness of Shōwa woodblock artistry, the hush of forest shrines, the shimmer of yōga influences, and the poetry of travel unfolding under cedar crowns.
