Wassily Kandinsky painted Die Nacht in 1906, pressing tempera onto lamp-black board at Sèvres, the Paris suburb where he lived with Gabriele Münter. His pictures hung at the Salon d’Automne that year. His brush kept walking home toward fairy tales.
The tall woman owns this meadow. Wind hauls her hair east past a glacier-pale face. Her gown is built from mint and rose-quartz dabs, each one a single bristle-press, the mosaic touch of the works he called colored drawings. One hand works the comb. The other anchors a child in a coral smock, who grips something small and lemon-bright. A white-eyed creature crouches at their feet.
Behind them a sickle moon hooks the upper corner above slate-gray water. Stars leak through the tree crowns in sherbet flecks, and the same flecks seed the bottle-green grass as night flowers. Across the clearing waits a stooped figure with a turquoise hand.

Keep it simple: put two screws in the wall at the same height and rest the inner lip at the top of the back of the frame on them.
