Mishima Pass in Kai Province - Katsushika Hokusai Art Print
Couldn't load pickup availability
Katsushika Hokusai plants a single cryptomeria trunk dead center in Mishima Pass in Kai Province, and the trick works instantly: the tree swallows the frame, Mount Fuji shrinks to a pale triangle, cumulus cloud motifs curling at its shoulders.
This sheet belongs to the Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, titled Fugaku Sanjūrokkei on the original cartouche, printed in oban format during the final surge of Edo-period woodblock carving.
Bark ridges run moss-green and black, carved in long vertical strokes that dwarf the travelers gathered at the roots. Wearing sugegasa straw hats and blue-check robes, they stretch arm to arm around the trunk, testing its girth the way pilgrims on the Kōshū Kaidō road must have done for generations, packhorse bundles dropped in the grass beside them.
Indigo sky fades through pale bero-ai, Hokusai's prized Prussian blue pigment, into cream near the horizon, a bokashi gradation printers achieved with a single dampened brush pass. Fuji's summit smokes faintly. The travelers barely glance at it.

Wall Art Size Guides

Framed Art Prints

1. Vertical
Use the sawtooth hanger at the top middle on the back of the frame and hang it on a single screw or nail.

2. Horizontal
Hang the two sawtooth hangers on two screws or nails at the same heightPut two screws or nails in the wall at the same height, spaced the same distance apart as the two sawtooth hangers, then hang your print on them.

Framed Canvas

1. D-rings (most secure)
Screw a D-ring onto the back of the frame on the left and right, both at the same height. A ruler helps here. Then put two screws in the wall where you want your canvas, level with each other and spaced the same distance apart as the D-rings. A spirit level makes this easier. Finally, hook the D-rings onto the screws.

2. Straight onto screws
Keep it simple: put two screws in the wall at the same height and rest the inner lip at the top of the back of the frame on them.
