Fuji sits small and pale on the horizon, speckled with late snow, watching over a city it barely touches. Below the roof's steep pitch, Asakusa's rooftops crowd the middle distance in dark rows, an Edo period neighborhood reduced to shorthand strokes. The temple workers keep climbing. Fuji keeps still.
