Adrien Dauzats (1804–1868) was a French painter and illustrator known for his precise Orientalist scenes and vivid travel imagery. Born in Bordeaux to a theatrical set painter, he trained under Lacour before joining Baron Taylor on expeditions across Egypt, Syria, and Palestine.

His detailed illustrations appeared in Taylor’s influential travel books, and he co-authored Quinze Jours au Sinaï with Alexandre Dumas. Revered for portraying the Middle East with rare impartiality, Dauzats also painted in Spain and Algeria.

Though his later years were studio-bound, his legacy remained tied to his travels and the exacting vision that set his Orientalist work apart.
