Artwork Description
In the shallow dark, cypress rise from mirrored water like pillars of an older world. Their swollen bases grip the mud, stained with years of flood tide.
Above, threads of moss tremble in air thick with decay and quiet. Ferns press at the edges, green against the pale trunks, while the surface doubles it all—a world inverted and perfectly still.
Somewhere behind the trees, a hut waits, wooden and watchful, as if the forest itself once built it and forgot why. Highsmith’s lens holds that stillness, patient, unsparing, reverent to every drowned reflection.
