About the Artwork
Posada’s skeletal Madero trudges through eternity, ribs jangling like the gears of revolt. The poncho falls in jagged rhythm, stitched with fatigue and satire. A flask tilts toward the grave, labeled with mordant humor—liquid courage for the afterlife.
Beneath the broad hat’s crosshatching, a mustached skull smirks at ambition’s futility. Each incision in the zinc plate cuts through illusion, exposing the shared skeleton of rulers and rebels alike. Sandals treading the same dust that fed the revolution’s dreams, now reduced to ink and mockery.
