Bullseye's a myth tangled mid-metamorphosis. Half martyr, half dandy, with a whiff of celestial prank. Fresh and androgynous, the bright gay soldier stands as if summoned to a ritual trial. Dressed in an 18th-century military jacket dipped in the hue of oxidized copper. A uniform stitched from nostalgia and hallucination. Epaulets and brass buttons suggest rank, but this is a sacrificial fop, a holy fool in the theatre of precision.
A blindfold devours the eyes—ochre and tightly wound, a classic nod to Justice bound by spears, not scales. Golden rods, arrows, and elongated stakes pierce the composition like accusatory thoughts made manifest, their trajectory precise yet aimless, aiming at the chaos of intent in a hyper-rational world.
The background—a sky washed in melancholic turquoise—suggests transcendence or abandonment, depending on your cosmology. There’s no ground, no architecture, only air. Our hero floating in the purgatory of expectation, a human bullseye for the gods of discipline, performance, and disobedience.
