Édouard Bénédictus was a rare fusion of artistry and alchemy, a man who painted with chemicals and composed with color. Born in 1878, he moved effortlessly between worlds—chemist, composer, painter, and designer—leaving his imprint on both Art Nouveau and Art Deco.

His Variations portfolios of the 1920s, with their bold geometric tapestries and floral abstractions, epitomized the rhythm of modernity. At the 1925 Exposition des Arts Décoratifs, his visionary designs graced the Grand Salon of the French Embassy, sealing his place among the era’s greats.
