About This Artwork
A reliquary of reef-born splendor, this Anne Vallayer-Coster phone case enshrines the ocean’s quiet delirium in a tableau of velvet taxonomy. Here, seaweed unfurls like Enlightenment scrollwork—botanical ghosts scribed in coral ink—while lithophytes lean like ruins in an undersea chapel. A pink conch dreams beside a scarlet claw; nacre gleams like forgotten psalms.
Vallayer-Coster, the baroque anatomist of stillness, transforms nature into myth—each seashell a fossilized aria, each sponge a soft cathedral. Painted in 1769 yet stilled outside of time, her baroque marine painting stages both scientific marvel and rococo rapture: Enlightenment curiosity dressed in rocaille lace.
Wrapped around your device, this French still life phone cover becomes a votive—equal parts curiosity cabinet and oceanic altar. An Enlightenment naturalist phone case for the modern collector of wonders. Seashell art where taxonomy meets transcendence, and coral blushes beneath the gaze of eternity. Art history that carries the salt of centuries, tide-etched and glimmering.
