Zorah on the Terrace - Henri Matisse Art Print
About the Wall Art
Fine Art Prints

Forget cheap reproductions and printable posters. Only the best will do.
Velvety matte fine art paper (warm white, archival-grade, 200gsm) with bold, vibrant, non-toxic pigment inks. High-definition print lab techniques give you sharper details, deeper saturation and true-to-life tones. While the matte surface keeps glare down and archival-grade materials mean the colors you fall for stay vivid for decades.
Framed Fine Art Prints

Your print arrives framed and ready to hang, so it goes straight from the box to your wall.
Chevron cut wooden frames make a timeless statement in three distinctive colors: black, white and natural. Each frame is made of sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine. And your artwork is protected behind ultra-clear perspex glaze that’s lighter than glass and shatter-resistant.
Float Framed Canvas Prints

Luscious artist-grade cotton canvas, hand-stretched and finely textured, gives every detail depth and precision, catching light and color with striking clarity. While a precisely measured floating frame leaves a slim gap around the canvas, so it seems to hover with a sleek, gallery-worthy effect. Finished with your choice of frame color — black, white or natural — made from sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine.
Giclée Printing

Forget 4 color CMYK. Giclée layers up to 12 — alive with deeper shadows, richer highlights and multidimensional contrasts. Pro-lab printing process helps art stay bold & breathtaking for up to 100 years. And the neo-pigment, water-based inks are 100% non-hazardous and toxin-free.
About the Artwork
Zorah folds her hands in her lap, looks straight out and lets the room arrange itself around her. Henri Matisse dresses her in a lilac and cream diamond robe with a line of small buttons down the front and sets a pale scarf close against her face. Teal planes lean in on both sides. A goldfish bowl on a rose-pink stem glows at her right, and coral-red and yellow slippers wait at the left edge.
Zohra in Arabic means radiant. At the time few women in Tangier agreed to sit for a foreign painter, so her steady gaze is as much her own decision as his arrangement. She is the middle panel of the triptych Matisse painted in 1912 and 1913, with the window view and the Kasbah gate on either side. The navy rug under her is the darkest block on the canvas and holds her in place.
Matisse had written in 1908 that he wanted an art of balance, purity and serenity, and here he keeps the color thin enough for the turquoise to breathe. Faint pencil lines still run through the wall and the pink margin. A cream wedge of light cuts into the top left, and a band of ultramarine runs along the upper border.
Zorah on the Terrace awaits your bedroom or reading nook as a turquoise Moroccan portrait, where a steady gaze and a bowl of goldfish slow the evening, and a woman's barely there smile gives your wall its calm.
