Description

Two women raise brooms against a flock of men-headed birds, their faces caught between disgust and amusement. Behind them, robed elders leer encouragement, their devotion cloaked in hypocrisy.

Goya etches hysteria into ritual; this is exorcism turned farce. The wings of folly beat against moral confinement, feathers scraping the void where reason should dwell.

 Each stroke of ink mocks authority’s theatre, where purity requires violence and the grotesque must be “cleansed.” The copper still humming with irony, every contour sharp as satire. The women sweep, yet nothing truly leaves—the corruption only circles back, disguised as faith.

About the Artist

Francisco Goya (30 March 1746 – 16 April 1828) was a Spanish painter and printmaker, often called the father of modern art.
