She arrives as fire masked in foliage. Petals arced like tongues caught mid-incantation. The Queen Plant burns upward through a crown of lance-shaped leaves, their surfaces too thick for shadow, too velveted for light to trespass.
Every orange bloom thrusts through its sheath, forked and rising, a choreography of ignition and containment. Behind it, hills shimmer with jungle breath, while a river curls lazily along the base of the scene like a silk threat.
Thornton does not flatter—he weaponizes form. These aren’t flowers; they’re assertions. Each stamen a signature. Each bract a verdict. The Queen doesn’t recline—she stands, vertical and vigilant, rooted in ceremonial dirt.
