Momento Morpho - Surrealist Skeleton Butterfly Art Print

Renaissance insect taxonomy began with a pin and a patient eye. In 1602 Ulisse Aldrovandi published the first European book devoted to insects alone, and this alien insect walks off a page he never dared to draw.
Down at marsh level, where the moss smells of rain and old leaves, something enormous has landed. Its exoskeleton has turned to bone ivory. A skull-shaped head, drilled with holes like a lotus pod, leans toward the pond on legs strung together from vertebrae. Every plate of the thorax is pierced through like a radiolarian, the glassy sea skeleton Ernst Haeckel drew at his microscope in the 1800s. While teal dusk drains to apricot over bare swamp trees.
Now look at the wings. Chalk-pale and long as sails, they carry eyespots and Lepidoptera patterns pressed in like wax seals from a cabinet of curiosities. Rust-orange butterflies circle close, curious cousins come to inspect the stranger. Coral peonies swell at its feet with the heavy sweetness of a Dutch vanitas still life, where each bloom arrives one hour from rot.
Seventeenth-century painters called this kind of scene sottobosco. Here weirdcore aesthetic meets natural history illustration, and surreal creature art borrows the calm hand of Joris Hoefnagel. This skeletal insect art print holds the oldest memento mori promise: bones can flower, and the swamp counts its dead in petals. Hang this macabre entomological fantasy and any room will grow a little wilder.

Framed Art Prints

1. Vertical
Use the sawtooth hanger at the top middle on the back of the frame and hang it on a single screw or nail.

2. Horizontal
Hang the two sawtooth hangers on two screws or nails at the same heightPut two screws or nails in the wall at the same height, spaced the same distance apart as the two sawtooth hangers, then hang your print on them.

Framed Canvas

1. D-rings (most secure)
Screw a D-ring onto the back of the frame on the left and right, both at the same height. A ruler helps here. Then put two screws in the wall where you want your canvas, level with each other and spaced the same distance apart as the D-rings. A spirit level makes this easier. Finally, hook the D-rings onto the screws.

2. Straight onto screws
Keep it simple: put two screws in the wall at the same height and rest the inner lip at the top of the back of the frame on them.
