About the Wall Art
Fine Art Prints

Forget cheap reproductions and printable posters. Only the best will do.
Velvety matte fine art paper (warm white, archival-grade, 200gsm) with bold, vibrant, non-toxic pigment inks. High-definition print lab techniques give you sharper details, deeper saturation and true-to-life tones. While the matte surface keeps glare down and archival-grade materials mean the colors you fall for stay vivid for decades.
Framed Fine Art Prints

Your print arrives framed and ready to hang, so it goes straight from the box to your wall.
Chevron cut wooden frames make a timeless statement in three distinctive colors: black, white and natural. Each frame is made of sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine. And your artwork is protected behind ultra-clear perspex glaze that’s lighter than glass and shatter-resistant.
Float Framed Canvas Prints

Luscious artist-grade cotton canvas, hand-stretched and finely textured, gives every detail depth and precision, catching light and color with striking clarity. While a precisely measured floating frame leaves a slim gap around the canvas, so it seems to hover with a sleek, gallery-worthy effect. Finished with your choice of frame color — black, white or natural — made from sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine.
Giclée Printing

Forget 4 color CMYK. Giclée layers up to 12 — alive with deeper shadows, richer highlights and multidimensional contrasts. Pro-lab printing process helps art stay bold & breathtaking for up to 100 years. And the neo-pigment, water-based inks are 100% non-hazardous and toxin-free.
About the Artwork
Edward Penfield's Man Riding Bicycle from 1894 catches the cycling craze of the Gay Nineties mid-pedal — a chrome-yellow overcoat thrown forward over the handlebars, plaid flat cap low, pipe clamped between teeth, a tan magazine tucked into the coat pocket as though the open road were merely a reading room with better air.
The figure presses left against a sage-green crayon-drag ground that breathes and shimmers where the ink outline of figure and flat-black bicycle frame holds everything sharp. Behind him, cadmium-orange autumn foliage blazes at the upper right — two slender brown trunks splitting the canopy — while a cobalt-blue water wedge opens at the horizon left, the sea indifferent to the whole affair.
Penfield, whose poster work for Harper's Monthly made the American safety bicycle an object of aspirational leisure, understood that speed could be rendered perfectly still: white-rimmed tires frozen at the moment the fin-de-siècle decided the wheel was a form of freedom. Borrowing his flat color washes and horizon-hugging silhouettes from Japanese woodblock printmaking. Running it all through the same visual grammar that shaped Will Bradley and the broader Japonisme current in fin-de-siècle American illustration.
