About the Wall Art
Fine Art Prints

Forget cheap reproductions and printable posters. Only the best will do.
Velvety matte fine art paper (warm white, archival-grade, 200gsm) with bold, vibrant, non-toxic pigment inks. High-definition print lab techniques give you sharper details, deeper saturation and true-to-life tones. While the matte surface keeps glare down and archival-grade materials mean the colors you fall for stay vivid for decades.
Framed Fine Art Prints

Your print arrives framed and ready to hang, so it goes straight from the box to your wall.
Chevron cut wooden frames make a timeless statement in three distinctive colors: black, white and natural. Each frame is made of sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine. And your artwork is protected behind ultra-clear perspex glaze that’s lighter than glass and shatter-resistant.
Float Framed Canvas Prints

Luscious artist-grade cotton canvas, hand-stretched and finely textured, gives every detail depth and precision, catching light and color with striking clarity. While a precisely measured floating frame leaves a slim gap around the canvas, so it seems to hover with a sleek, gallery-worthy effect. Finished with your choice of frame color — black, white or natural — made from sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine.
Giclée Printing

Forget 4 color CMYK. Giclée layers up to 12 — alive with deeper shadows, richer highlights and multidimensional contrasts. Pro-lab printing process helps art stay bold & breathtaking for up to 100 years. And the neo-pigment, water-based inks are 100% non-hazardous and toxin-free.
About the Artwork
Paris, 1896. The occult revival had mediums tipping tables in rented parlors, and spirit photographs passed for proof. René Philipon, occultist and translator, wanted pictures for his French edition of a British ghost tale. He asked Odilon Redon.
I Continued to Gaze on the Chair, and Fancied I saw on It a Pale Blue Misty Outline of a Human Figure takes its long name from Edward Bulwer-Lytton's 1859 Victorian ghost story, The Haunted and the Haunters. Its narrator, a skeptic, rents a haunted house in London and sits up by candlelight with a revolver. Redon gives him company. A faceless figure in a floor-length gown glows tallow white against coal-tar gloom, its head a thumbprint of smoke gray.
All the looking happens overhead, where two oyster-pale eyes drift in a haze of ink dust with lids at half-mast. Turning litho chalk on its side and rubbed a seated ghost into the limestone. Scratches put light back into the skirt until it flared like magnesium flash. The pale blue misty outline of a human figure became one of Redon's noirs, inked the color of stove polish. Next to the chair stands a guéridon, the round table spiritist circles trusted to rap out replies.
French Symbolism rarely came this close to a darkroom. This vintage gothic art print hangs like a glass-plate negative. Turning the supernatural into a staring match.
