This sleeve transforms your device into a portable exhibition of Japanese artistic genius, showcasing the pinnacle of late 19th-century ukiyo-e woodblock printing. Jakuchū's unparalleled eye for detail breathes life into every feather - a mesmerizing tapestry of ochre, crimson, and cerulean that seems to quiver with ethereal luminescence. Delicate bamboo fronds frame the avian stunner, their jade hues providing a striking counterpoint to the pheasant's opulent plumage.

About the Artist

Itō Jakuchū (1716–1800) was an Edo period Japanese painter known for his captivating depictions of birds, especially chickens. His work, while rooted in traditional Japanese aesthetics, demonstrated modern experimentation with perspective and stylistic techniques. Jakuchū's vivid and realistic approach placed him alongside Maruyama Ōkyo, and he gained recognition as one of Kyoto’s leading artists. Deeply influenced by Zen Buddhism, Jakuchū balanced spiritual elements with a growing awareness of Kyoto's increasingly commercial society. His art, celebrated for its detail and eccentricities, played a key role in Japan's cultural tapestry, and his legacy continues to shape Japanese art history today.
