Description

Lean into the vibrant world of Franz Marc's "Genesis II" with this captivating art pillow. You'll be transfixed by the swirling chaos of creation, where three majestic horses emerge from a tempest of black, green, and gold. This Expressionist masterpiece, originally destined for an illustrated Bible, pulses with the raw energy of new life.

Marvel at Marc's bold brushstrokes and dynamic composition, hallmarks of Der Blaue Reiter movement. The pillow's textile recreation faithfully captures the artist's vision of joyous rebirth, inviting you to ponder the very origins of existence.

Unlike Marc's more menacing "Tiger," this equine trio embodies hope and vitality. Each curve and color tells a story, from the primal darkness to the burst of golden light. This decorative accent isn't just a pillow; it's a portal to Munich's avant-garde art scene, tragically cut short by World War I.

Transform your space with this tactile piece of art history. Let the spirit of Expressionism and the power of creation infuse your home, sparking conversation and contemplation with every glance.

About the Artist

Franz Marc (1880–1916) was a German painter and printmaker, known for his vibrant portrayals of animals. As a founding member of Der Blaue Reiter, Marc played a pivotal role in shaping German Expressionism, using bright colors and bold forms to convey emotional and spiritual themes. Marc's mature works focused on animals, reflecting his belief in their purity and connection to nature. Drafted during World War I, he tragically died at the Battle of Verdun in 1916. Despite being labeled a degenerate artist by the Nazis in the 1930s, much of his work survived, cementing his legacy.
