About the Wall Art
Fine Art Prints

Forget cheap reproductions and printable posters. Only the best will do.
Velvety matte fine art paper (warm white, archival-grade, 200gsm) with bold, vibrant, non-toxic pigment inks. High-definition print lab techniques give you sharper details, deeper saturation and true-to-life tones. While the matte surface keeps glare down and archival-grade materials mean the colors you fall for stay vivid for decades.
Framed Fine Art Prints

Your print arrives framed and ready to hang, so it goes straight from the box to your wall.
Chevron cut wooden frames make a timeless statement in three distinctive colors: black, white and natural. Each frame is made of sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine. And your artwork is protected behind ultra-clear perspex glaze that’s lighter than glass and shatter-resistant.
Float Framed Canvas Prints

Luscious artist-grade cotton canvas, hand-stretched and finely textured, gives every detail depth and precision, catching light and color with striking clarity. While a precisely measured floating frame leaves a slim gap around the canvas, so it seems to hover with a sleek, gallery-worthy effect. Finished with your choice of frame color — black, white or natural — made from sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine.
Giclée Printing

Forget 4 color CMYK. Giclée layers up to 12 — alive with deeper shadows, richer highlights and multidimensional contrasts. Pro-lab printing process helps art stay bold & breathtaking for up to 100 years. And the neo-pigment, water-based inks are 100% non-hazardous and toxin-free.
About the Artwork
Every road out of Tangier starts at a gate like this one. Hugo Backmansson stands on the outer side of the rampart and lets one man in a white cloak cross the open ground while a minaret in sand and gold rises behind him. A second man rests in shadow at the right edge, and far off a slimmer white spire and a stripe of green fields mark where the plain runs out.
Backmansson paints the farmland in peach and heather and the far distance in blue haze, with a pale tower marking the edge of the view. Brown crenellations march along the upper corner, and a curve of blue shadow sweeps under the gate where the ground drops away. The notched crest has a military past. After English rule ended in 1684 Tangier served mainly as an outpost, and in the 1920s it became an international zone.
A man who served as an army officer knows what a rampart is for, and Backmansson gives this one its weight with a shallow shade at its foot. Pink and lavender tint the plain. He keeps the oil thin and dry so the canvas weave shows in the sky, and small dark slits mark the minaret's shaft near its notched top.
From Tangier awaits your study or living room as a Moroccan city-scene, where a white-cloaked walker leaves town and your wall keeps the road open.
