Entrance to the Kasbah, Tangier - Henri Matisse Art Print

Fine Art Prints

Forget cheap reproductions and printable posters. Only the best will do.

Velvety matte fine art paper (warm white, archival-grade, 200gsm) with bold, vibrant, non-toxic pigment inks. High-definition print lab techniques give you sharper details, deeper saturation and true-to-life tones. While the matte surface keeps glare down and archival-grade materials mean the colors you fall for stay vivid for decades.

Framed Fine Art Prints

Your print arrives framed and ready to hang, so it goes straight from the box to your wall.

Chevron cut wooden frames make a timeless statement in three distinctive colors: black, white and natural. Each frame is made of sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine. And your artwork is protected behind ultra-clear perspex glaze that’s lighter than glass and shatter-resistant.

Float Framed Canvas Prints

Luscious artist-grade cotton canvas, hand-stretched and finely textured, gives every detail depth and precision, catching light and color with striking clarity. While a precisely measured floating frame leaves a slim gap around the canvas, so it seems to hover with a sleek, gallery-worthy effect. Finished with your choice of frame color — black, white or natural — made from sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine.

Giclée Printing

A coral-red path runs under a cobalt arch and the eye follows it into the sun. Henri Matisse paints the Kasbah gate at Tangier as a horseshoe of ultramarine edged by a slim jamb of jade. On the near side a seated figure is sketched in a few lavender lines and left unfinished beside a patch of ochre.

The Kasbah is the old fortified citadel above the harbor. Inside these walls at Tangier stood the sultan's palace, so the gate once marked a threshold of rank before it marked a way home. Beyond it a pink wall holds one small square window, and a grille of dark green is dotted with black. Pale blue and cream blocks of houses stack up behind.

Matisse gives each plane a temperature and leaves it alone: cold indigo on the right wall, warm vermilion on the floor and a mottled pink and cream over the arch where the paint is scraped thin. Dark blue walls shut in the far side of the frame, and the passage itself holds cool, a short room of shade before the glare. The brush drags dry across the chalky pink sky and lets the weave show through. This doorway became the right panel of Matisse's Moroccan triptych.

Entrance to the Kasbah awaits your hallway or living room as a cobalt arch painting, where a red path draws every visitor toward the light.
