About This Artwork
This Arabic Ceiling phone case is a celestial ode, a portal to the sacred geometry of the Islamic Golden Age, reimagined through Emile Prisse d’Avennes’ reverent gaze. It is not merely a pattern—it is an architectural aria, resonating with the devotion and mathematics of centuries past.
At its center, radiant starburst rosettes blossom like cosmic florals, with each petal an invocation of infinity. Encircling the rosettes, a symphony of interlocking polygons and star-laden mosaics unfold. Their seamless tessellations a whispered echo of the cosmos' unbroken rhythm. These motifs, delicately rendered in opulent gold and obsidian black, shimmer like night skies over Alhambra courtyards.
Beneath the surface lies a tactile world: arabesques curl like vines in moonlit gardens; knotwork pulses with ancestral wisdom, mirroring Mamluk tilework and Andalusian grace. This case doesn’t merely shield—it reveres, inviting its holder to cradle centuries of artistry in the palm of their hand.
