Description

About the Artist

Julius Paulsen (1860–1940) forged his art in Denmark’s golden light, each painting a cryptic hymn of sensuality and earthbound mystery. His portraits and nude studies—rendered in dense pigment and whispered chiaroscuro—unfold a world of ritualized flesh and natural delirium.

Paulsen’s figures flicker between memory and myth, each stroke a relic of the forest’s primeval hush or the interior’s domestic hush.
