Women at Gate, Morocco - Arnold Genthe Art Print

Fine Art Prints

Forget cheap reproductions and printable posters. Only the best will do.

Velvety matte fine art paper (warm white, archival-grade, 200gsm) with bold, vibrant, non-toxic pigment inks. High-definition print lab techniques give you sharper details, deeper saturation and true-to-life tones. While the matte surface keeps glare down and archival-grade materials mean the colors you fall for stay vivid for decades.

Framed Fine Art Prints

Your print arrives framed and ready to hang, so it goes straight from the box to your wall.

Chevron cut wooden frames make a timeless statement in three distinctive colors: black, white and natural. Each frame is made of sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine. And your artwork is protected behind ultra-clear perspex glaze that’s lighter than glass and shatter-resistant.

Float Framed Canvas Prints

Luscious artist-grade cotton canvas, hand-stretched and finely textured, gives every detail depth and precision, catching light and color with striking clarity. While a precisely measured floating frame leaves a slim gap around the canvas, so it seems to hover with a sleek, gallery-worthy effect. Finished with your choice of frame color — black, white or natural — made from sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine.

Giclée Printing

Four women step out of an arch's shadow. Arnold Genthe frames them under a horseshoe arch rimmed in scalloped plaster, with puddled cobbles at their feet and walls worn back to brick. One haik is plain, one striped, one blurs as its wearer reaches the light, and one sits under a basket balanced on top.

The haik is the long rectangular wrap Maghrebi women wore out of doors, so what you see is the town's outdoor wardrobe passing through its own gate. The horseshoe arch is a Moorish form found on both sides of the Strait of Gibraltar, and a carved band above the women leads your eye down to them.

Genthe tilts the exposure toward the light, so the women's wraps dissolve at the edges and the plaster glares. The dark interior keeps its weight. One walker blurs mid-step and a striped shawl crosses another figure, while mud and pale stones pattern the ground. Narrow vertical ribs run down the pilasters at the right, and bare brick shows at the left where the plaster has fallen. The women pause in a loose line with their faces covered and their steps unhurried, as if the arch had only just released them.

Women at Gate, Morocco awaits your hallway or bedroom as an antique Moorish photograph, where the doorway bends and someone is always just arriving.
