Description

Nestle into a world of Art Nouveau splendor with this enchanting pillow. Verneuil's "Sagittaire" adorns the fabric, showcasing saffron-hued deer amidst a lush arboreal tableau. Their dappled coats shimmer against a backdrop of slate-blue and golden foliage.

The stag's antlers branch skyward, mirroring the sinuous boughs overhead. This isn't just a cushion; it's a portal to Belle Époque aesthetics. Your fingers will trace the undulating forms, where zoological precision meets decorative fantasy. The design pulses with fin de siècle energy - each perfectly placed leaf a brushstroke in a tactile symphony.

You'll sink into this dreamscape where cervine grace and botanical exuberance harmonize. The pillow transforms your space, inviting you to lose yourself in a realm where nature's geometry is reimagined through an artistic lens. Verneuil's masterpiece doesn't merely decorate; it beckons you into a stylized woodland, forever captured in the amber of Art Nouveau's fleeting brilliance.

About the Artist

Maurice Pillard Verneuil, born in 1869, was a French Art Nouveau artist known for his vibrant designs inspired by nature. Trained under Swiss designer Eugène Grasset, Verneuil transformed florals, sea life, and geometric motifs into swirling, intricate compositions that epitomized the Art Nouveau movement. His work, often described as a blend of Japanese influence and Parisian flair, pushed the boundaries of design, from posters to textiles. Collaborating with artists like Toulouse-Lautrec, Verneuil's posters became iconic. Later, in Switzerland with his wife Adélaïde, he created the "Kaleidoscope" portfolio—a dazzling collection of abstract ornaments that captured his boundless creativity.
