Description

Unleash your creativity with this A5 spiral-bound notebook adorned by Itō Jakuchū's resplendent golden pheasant. Each page-turn transports you to the Edo era's artistic zenith, where Jakuchū's ukiyo-e mastery electrifies your note-taking experience.

The pheasant's plumage - a symphony of saffron, vermilion, and sapphire - leaps from the ebony backdrop, transforming your jottings into visual poetry. Jakuchū's meticulous brushwork captures every feather's intricacy, from the scaled wings to the proud crest, inviting your pen to match its precision. The bamboo fronds, delicately rendered, frame your thoughts like nature's own marginalia.

This notebook doesn't merely record; it inspires, coupling functionality with Edo-period splendor. Whether you're sketching, journaling, or brainstorming, each spiral-bound page becomes a canvas for your ideas, elevated by Jakuchū's timeless artistry. Let this avian muse guide your hand, infusing your daily scribblings with the elegance of Japanese nature art.

About the Artist

Itō Jakuchū (1716–1800) was an Edo period Japanese painter known for his captivating depictions of birds, especially chickens. His work, while rooted in traditional Japanese aesthetics, demonstrated modern experimentation with perspective and stylistic techniques. Jakuchū's vivid and realistic approach placed him alongside Maruyama Ōkyo, and he gained recognition as one of Kyoto’s leading artists. Deeply influenced by Zen Buddhism, Jakuchū balanced spiritual elements with a growing awareness of Kyoto's increasingly commercial society. His art, celebrated for its detail and eccentricities, played a key role in Japan's cultural tapestry, and his legacy continues to shape Japanese art history today.
