About the Wall Art

Fine Art Prints

Forget cheap reproductions and printable posters. Only the best will do. Velvety matte fine art paper (warm white, archival-grade, 200gsm) with bold, vibrant, non-toxic pigment inks.

High-definition print lab techniques give you sharper details, deeper saturation and true-to-life tones.

The matte surface keeps glare down and archival-grade materials mean the colors you fall for stay vivid for decades.

Framed Fine Art Prints

Your print arrives framed and ready to hang, so it goes straight from the box to your wall.

Chevron cut wooden frames make a timeless statement in three distinctive colors: black, white and natural.

Each frame is made of sustainably sourced FSC® certified European knotless pine, finished with ultra-clear perspex glaze that’s lighter than glass and shatter-resistant.

Float Framed Canvas Prints

Luscious artist-grade cotton canvas, hand-stretched and finely textured, gives every detail depth and precision. Its natural white surface catches light and color with striking clarity.

A precisely measured floating frame leaves a slim gap around the canvas, so it seems to hover with a sleek, gallery-worthy effect.

Your choice of a black, white or natural frame: all made from sustainably sourced FSC® certified European knotless pine.

Giclée Printing

Forget 4 color CMYK. Giclée layers up to 12 — alive with deeper shadows, richer highlights and multidimensional contrasts.

Pro-lab printing process helps art stay bold & breathtaking for up to 100 years.

Neo pigment, water-based inks are 100% non-hazardous and toxin-free. Meeting the strictest industry standards as defined by Oeko-Tex 100 safety applications, Residues Standard List (RSL) and the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists.

About the Artwork

Light thickens inside Fushimi Inari Shrine. The torii gates of Kyoto crowd into a tunnel so tight the vermilion lacquer seems to hum. One hanging bronze lantern spills amber down the left wall in persimmon streaks. Then the glow quits. Each pillar drops into lacquer-black, a painted boot against rot and rainy-season damp.

Every gate here was paid for by rice brokers and shopkeepers raising them as thanks to Inari Okami, the Shinto kami of rice and commerce, with donor names brushed down the hidden backs in sumi ink. The Hata clan founded the shrine on Mount Inari in 711. Centuries of gratitude later, the Senbon Torii became a corridor you can walk through.

The stone path bends right between slate-gray gravel. Somewhere past the curve a kitsune fox guards a granary key in its jaws. While this Japanese travel photography print holds you at the threshold, one step from the next gate.

Origin Story

Fushimi Inari Taisha is the Shinto shrine where devotion walks uphill in vermilion. Founded in 711 by the Hata clan on Mount Inari in southern Kyoto, before the city became Japan's imperial capital, it honours Inari Ōkami, kami of rice, sake and commerce. Heian emperors lavished it with patronage. The Ōnin War left it in ash; the honden rose again in 1499, and Toyotomi Hideyoshi gave the Rōmon Gate in 1589, thanks for his mother's recovery.

Then the torii. Since the Edo period, merchants and pilgrims have offered gates for answered prayers, their names brushed on the reverse. Some ten thousand tunnel the mountain, densest at the Senbon Torii, glowing ember-bright through forest shade. Stone kitsune stand sentinel, some with granary keys in their jaws. Around 30,000 Inari shrines trace their lineage here. A living place of worship.
