Artwork Description
A nude bather leans forward, muscles defined by fragmented strokes of lilac, peach, and pale green, drying himself on the sun-saturated shore of St Tropez. Henri Edmond Cross uses Divisionist technique to fracture solid form into countless flickering notes, allowing body, foliage, and sea to shimmer with equal intensity.
